In Electrical / Instrument Design Or Inspection
Applicants must either be suitably qualified with relevant design experience and have a familiarity with the requirements of instrumented systems in hazardous areas; or Alternatively they will be experienced inspectors in possession of a current Comp'Ex or C&G 2391 accreditation.

Based at: Macclesfield

Reports to: Project Engineer, Project Manager

Territory: UK, own vehicle is required.

You will be in good health and have a clean driving license. You must be able to work efficiently as part of a small team dedicated to producing results. We will supplement your training as necessary. When working on site you will be paid a home-away allowance and full expenses. Salary negotiable.

1. Electrical / Instrument Designer

Scope and Indicators:
You will have some years experience working in a design office on instrument and electrical projects. You may have worked previously on major construction projects or cut-and-carve work. Your background will include detailed design work and equipment specification for work in flammable hazardous areas. Your job will entail preparation of detailed design scopes of work for modifications to electrical and control systems in a variety of plants. Typically this will be to do with functional safety or DSEAR Compliance. Our clients include power stations, pharmaceuticals industries, petroleum industries, chemical plants and airports.

2. Electrical / Instrument Hazardous Area Inspector

Electrical Site Survey to BS7671
Detailed, close and visual Hazardous Area Inspections to DSEAR
Initial DSEAR Site Audits

Office
Electrical Site Survey Reports
Hazardous Area Site Reports and Schedule Input
Scoping Inspection work
Scoping Non-Conformance work
Electrical and Hazardous area consultancy through meetings and telephone calls
Design Support (Electrical, Control, and Haz Area)
Documentation for design projects
Time management on project deliverables

Scope and Indicators:
As an inspector you will have some years experience working in different types of installations and be willing to spend time away from home. You must be satisfied only with the highest standards and be able to make sound recommendations where remedial action is required. In this respect part of your duties will involve reporting on your findings and putting together proposals, and for this you will need to have a good command of the written word. Our clients include power stations, pharmaceuticals industries, petroleum industries, chemical plants and airports.

Knowledge: You will have a current competency in electrical inspection. You will be expected to be computer literate to the extent that the job dictates, e.g. Microsoft Office application
