Electrical, Instrument and Control Design Case Study 1 –
Laboratory and Office New Building Design
IEC were engaged by an International Pharmaceuticals company to provide a full building services design solution for a new office and laboratory building.
The scope was comprehensive and included a new switchroom, small power and lighting for the building, a lift, the building security system, fire alarm system and computer data cabling, HVAC electrical supply and controls, laboratory robotic controls, special cold room controls, and a UPS and changeover supplies.
We began at the feasibility stage and developed several design options for the client to review. The favoured solution was chosen and we proceeded to detail the various construction work packages. As each phase of the installation was completed we carried out the necessary inspections and tests to validate functionality and ultimately performance.
